Textbook Supplements

From this page, you can easily find on-Web information supplemental to each chapter of the textbook including

  • Ready-to-run examples from the text (with cross references to examples in the text)

  • Full-size, full-color versions of figures used in the text

  • Hands-on experiments

  • Links to references and resources

Both Mozilla-based browsers (Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla) and Internet Explorer (IE) will work. But because Mozilla-based browsers better support open standards, we recommend that you use them for these supplements.

Each example also provides links to show XHTML, CSS, Javascript, and Perl source code stored in .txt files. If you use IE, a text file with XHTML code may cause a display error (strange but true). However, if you use

view  -> source
when you see the error, you still will be able to see the source.

The Index for the text is also online. You can use the search function in your PDF reader to locate info in the textbook.
