HANDS-ON EXPERIMENTS

Handson Experiments

Instructions

These experiments complement the textbook material and provide students and instructors with excellent chances to interact. The experiments are designed to put knowledge to practice and to sharpen understanding. The Mozilla-family browsers (Firefox, Netscape Navigator (NN), and Mozilla) as well as Internet Explorer (IE) will work. But because Firefox gives better support for open standards, we recommend that you use Firefox for these experiments.

Often an experiment will call for downloading of HTML or other codes for trial and exploration.

  • On Firefox, right-click a link and choosing save link as will download the source.

  • On IE, right-click a link and choosing save Target as will download the source. Versions of IE have problems displaying XHTML code stored in .txt files. If you encounter this error window, simply use
    view>source
on that error window to see the source.
