Senior Research Manager, Science Integration Division Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Public Health Agency of Canada Yang Mao received his PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Western Ontario. He has worked at Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada as an epidemiologist and research manager for 35 years. He has served as vice president of the Canadian Society of Epidemiology and Biostatistics for two terms and president for two terms. Dr. Mao has published more than 200 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals. His recent year’s works are focused on injury risk assessments and climate change adaptations, especially in vulnerable populations such as seniors, rural dwellers, aboriginal populations and immigrant populations. He has received several prestigious awards for his research and for his national efforts at mentoring Population Health Scientists in Canada.
